Insights from 'Didn't See That Coming'
Rebuilding Resilience, Financial Freedom, and Purpose in the Face of Adversity
Recently, I came across a quite interesting book titled "Didn't See That Coming: Putting Life Back Together When Your World Falls Apart." 📖 The book is written by Rachel Hollis. In my opinion, this book is particularly helpful for those who find themselves in difficult situations that they never expected.
When faced with challenges in life, we often get caught in an emotional whirlwind. However, all difficulties that may seem insurmountable will eventually pass. What is more important is that we need to plan for the future, and if something challenging happens, we must learn to accept it and look forward.
In the book, the author mentions a case where a loved one unfortunately passed away. After burying the loved one, they received a bill requesting payment for the doctor's treatment fees. It's ironic, but everyone needs to be paid to continue living.
In today's context, with the possibility of COVID and layoffs looming, unexpected events can happen tomorrow. It shows that there are many things that can happen that we cannot predict. So, what do we need to prepare for?
💰 Financial freedom: While there is still an opportunity to generate income, strive to accumulate and invest to achieve a state where, even if you lose your main job, you won't fall into a terrible situation.
🔄 Change of perception: Many people think perception and mindset are the same, but in reality, they are not. You need to seek knowledge to develop a growth mindset.
🎯 Find a sense of purpose: Although it may seem vague, when you find your life's purpose, you will feel joy and happiness every day, even when going through something terrible.
You can buy the book online at Amazon. If you don't have enough time to read the entire book, you can listen to a summary through the Headway app. 🎧
